Why display student work from my past? So many of the projects I worked on during my college days are still a part of me. I look back on them with fondness and as a stepping stone to today. I keep them on here as a remembrance as to where I started and a reminder how of how far I have come. I knew early on I wanted a career in computer graphics and began taking drawing, design and art history classes in community college.

Later on during my years at the University of Central Florida I began taking classes focuses on design and 3D animation. I had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects for the university displayed below. For several semesters I had the privilege of working as a assistant to an instructor teaching marketing students the basics of web design and how to implement that into their business practices.

digital book talk

There are three major projects I worked on during my senior year. Digital Book Talk is a program created with the purpose of helping students from Kindergarten to High School to keep an interest in reading by creating book trailers in the fashion of movie trailers. I was assigned as director of Ray Bradbury's book, The Martian Chronicles. Using my background in 3D animation and production, myself and a group of several others created a 90 second book-trailer which had all the demands of a full scare production including script, location, scheduling, shooting, green screen compositing to video and sound editing. I am proud to say, that after 10 years our book trailer still has a home on their website today. I am also proud to say Digital Book Talk won first place that year in Undergraduate Research.

 the eastern slopes

The Eastern Slopes was a experimental 3D film  directed by a fellow student stylized with metaphoric imagery drawn from the bible and surrealism. The story followed an Alice in Wonderland experience through a changing art museum as well as a surrealistic world for our main character to explore. At the end of the story our main character is delivered a fatal blow from a deadly snake forcing her to take a leap of fate. I modeled in 3D a variety of creatures and props for the film to be displayed at Siggraph the following year.

 rising from the earth

Rising from the Earth was a student produced 3D video game designed to educate players about NASA history and space exploration. The game was supervised by clients working with the Space Coast History Project as well as the director of media convergence. My role was modeling and texturing a variety of launch equipment and vehicles as well as preparing them for the game engine. A year later the game was passed on to a professional developer for marketing as educational software.
